The power of professorships
An endowed clinical professorship represents the highest honor that Tufts Medicine and the Tufts University School of Medicine, our academic partner institution, bestow to recognize exceptional contributions to patient care and research. Named after visionary leaders and pioneering experts who have left indelible marks on their field, these professorships are awarded to outstanding clinician-scientists selected for their extraordinary professional achievements. Endowed professorships serve as key strategic investments to advance research in specific areas, retain and recruit outstanding talent, and honor deserving academic and clinical leaders for their transformative service to our institution. The vision for the establishment of the A. Razzaque Ahmed, MD Endowed Professorship is to attract and retain highly credentialed clinician-scientists at the Medical Center and serve as a catalyst for the growth of dermatologic research. The endowment will generate an annual payout in perpetuity, which will provide critical resources for the professorship holder to advance their innovative work in research, teaching, and patient care.
